Mozilla has confirmed it's finally releasing Firefox for iOS devices, with the browser available to download for free in the App Store right now.
The open source browser has been a glaring omission from the iPhone and iPad app emporium, with rivals such as Apple’s native Safari and Google Chrome hugely benefiting from its absence.
Mozilla had been resistant to launching on Apple’s bestselling devices because it would be forced use Apple’s browser engine rather than its own.
However, having revealed at the end of 2014 that it would be launching on iPhone, it has at last made Firefox available for download. Beta testers in New Zealand got a taste of the service earlier in the year.
If you use Firefox regularly, you can login and see all of your saved passwords, history and tabs on your iOS device. Whether Firefox can land a punch on its arrivals after launching so late remains to be seen.
