Apple will reveal the next 9.7–inch iPad next month at a special event, it has been claimed. And the device won’t be called the iPad Air 3 as many had expected.
Instead, the Cupertino company is set to simply call the device iPad Pro. The updated tablet will form part of a new iPad Pro range alongside the 12.9–inch version that was revealed to much fanfare at the end of 2015.
Sources say that the new, smaller iPad Pro will feature the same specs as its larger stablemate. That means an Apple A9X processor, improved RAM, quad speakers and a smart connector for a string of dedicated accessories.
Among the latter will be a resized Smart Keyboard, designed to be used specifically with this smaller take on the iPad Pro. The device will also work with Apple’s Pencil stylus.
The new iPad Pro is set to be unveiled at a special event on March 15th, before going on sale on March 18th.
While Apple has yet to confirm the date, it’s an open secret that this is when it will debut its new tablet, as well as its much–hyped iPhone 5se, an updated four–inch iPhone with improved internal specs.
