Apple will unveil its latest operating system for the iPhone and iPad in San Francisco this evening. iOS 10 will be revealed alongside a raft of other new software at the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.
Apple has largely managed to keep details of its updated platform secret. However, it has been reported that there will be a new dark screen mode to make the display easier on the eye.
Siri is also expected to get a major boost, with Apple believed to be planning to allow developers to build the voice-activated virtual assistant function into their apps.
This has the potential to make Siri much more powerful and should put it on a par with similar offerings from Amazon and Google.
Apple Music is also due to see significant changes.
The revamped layout and navigation are thought to be a lot more like rival Spotify, while social media tools and 3D Touch shortcuts should make the streaming service a lot easier to use.
As well as iOS 10, Apple is likely to show off its plans for its watchOS and OS X for Macs.
iOS 10 will not be officially released to the public until the iPhone 7 launches in September.
