Samsung has officially confirmed a new ‘Black Pearl’ version of its Galaxy S7 smartphones, confirming rumours which had been swirling on social media for weeks.
It means the company now offers seven colour ways of its popular Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones. These are blue coral, onyx, gold, silver, white and pink gold.
The Korean giant says the new model will be available as a 128GB–only model from December 9th in ‘select markets’. It’s not said where these markets will be, but it’s likely that the UK is one of them.
Samsung claims that the black pearl colour has been, “...designed to be modern and striking.” It’s also been designed to take on Apple’s jet black iPhone 7, which analysts say has proved to be a huge hit with consumers since its launch in September.
Samsung has been adding new versions of its Galaxy S7 since it was forced to stop selling its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone due to exploding batteries.
A new Galaxy S8, with edge–to–edge screen and virtual home button is set to launch in early 2017.
