A pair of leaked cases of Samsung’s Galaxy S8 appear to confirm that the company is shifting the fingerprint scanner on its flagship phone to the rear of the device.
The move, much–rumoured in recent weeks, sees the scanner sit alongside the camera at the top of the handset, something which some users may well find cumbersome.

The official cases also give up other secrets about the upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus to those who look hard enough.
A cutout on the right-hand side of the case shows there’s room for a button dedicated to Bixby, Samsung’s Siri–rivalling, voice-activated personal assistant.
This key will apparently take the place of the lock button, which is said to have been moved to the back of the phone.
The design of the cases, with edges curving up, also suggests that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus may feature flat rather than ‘edged’ displays that extend around the side of earlier Galaxy S handsets.
That means Samsung could ditch a feature which has been synonymous with its handsets for the past three years.
The Galaxy S8 is set to be teased at Mobile World Congress later this month, before an official launch event at the end of March.
