Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus: Samsung promises it won’t run out of phones

No issues with supply, says Samsung’s mobile chief.

Samsung’s head of mobile has said that everyone who wants a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus at launch will be able to get one and has promised the company will not run out of phones due to high demand.

Speaking with Korean media, DJ Koh said: “We set the initial supply of Galaxy S8 double the Galaxy S7.

"Since we are preparing the supply without difficulty, there will be no issue of supply delay.”

That will be good news for those planning to pre–order the handset or get it in store when from 28th April.

Koh said Samsung was readying an initial 20 million units, suggesting the company expects its two new devices to be a hit from the get-go.

Samsung’s bullishness points towards it getting over last year’s Galaxy Note 7 problems, which saw it discontinue its then-flagship phone due to exploding batteries.

The phone's glitches are said to be behind Samsung's decision to launch the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus later than planned.

Both the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are available to pre–order now, costing £689 and £779 SIM–free respectively.
