Apple is planning to bring screen tech found in its iPad Pro range to this year’s iPhone line-up.

True Tone display, which features in the 9.7–inch iPad Pro, uses ‘full spectral sensing’ to adapt the colours on a device’s screen to the ambient lighting conditions.

Analysts at Barclays say the tech will be used in the top–end iPhone 8, as well as the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.

The latter are expected to look broadly similar to 2016’s iPhones, while the former is due to come with a major design overhaul and brighter OLED display.

Bringing True Tone screens to the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will help Apple continue to push the handsets, despite the fact that both are expected to come with dated LCD tech.

As the year wears on, more and more information about Apple’s iPhone 8 is leaking out from supply-chain and analyst sources.

The flagship iPhone 8 is likely to have an all–screen front, new dual lens camera, curved display and cost around £1,000.
