A series of leaked iPhone 8 cases confirms that Apple has begun mass production of its long–awaited iPhone 8.
That’s the contention of keen Apple-watcher and leaker Benjamin Geskin, who claims that with the cases now being produced in large quantities, Apple itself has begun making the iPhone 8 in preparation for a September launch.
Geskin’s assertion certainly tallies with reports emerging from Apple’s supply chain, which suggested earlier this week that it was all systems go at the California company’s partners across Asia.
The leaks add heft to rumours the iPhone 8 will feature a vertical dual lens camera, larger volume key and dimensions somewhere between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Geskin does not reveal any more plans for the iPhone 8’s specs, although it is widely assumed the deice will feature a Samsung–made OLED screen, the latest iOS 11 software and a series of internal tweaks to make it the most powerful iPhone yet.
A launch event is likely to take place in mid–September, before the iPhone 8 goes on sale later in the year.
