Kuo says that the new AirPods will feature a new quartz component, but does not elaborate on any further features. Apple fans have long wanted the wireless headphones to offer full noise cancelling.
The news comes just days after it was revealed Apple has sold out of AirPods ahead of Christmas. The earphones are not available until late January, as owners of newer iPhones male the move from wired to wireless tech.
The iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, along with last year’s iPhone 7 range, don't come with a standard headphone slot, a move which Apple’s Phil Schiller said showed ‘courage’.
