Huawei’s latest handset is now on sale on Vodafone, before becoming available on a wider range of networks from March.
The P smart, which is touted as offering “premium technology for less”, will be available on Vodafone from 1st February, with prices starting at a very reasonable £17 per month, with £9 to pay upfront.
Alternatively, you can pick it up for £29 per month on a contract that includes a hefty data allowance of 16GB per month.
That outlay gets you a handset with a dual-lens main camera – something usually reserved for much more expensive phones, making it a real rarity at this price point.
The camera pairs a 13-megapixel lens with a 2-megapixel lens to allow users to take the kind of ‘bokeh’-style Portrait shots that made recent iPhones so well regarded among photography enthusiasts.
So-called ‘bokeh’ photos enable you to fade out background details and bring the subject of your snaps into super-sharp focus, to very striking effect.
Around the front, there’s an eight-megapixel selfie camera, while the Full HD screen comes in at an expansive 5.6-inches with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 1080 x 2160 pixel resolution.
To keep your details secure the Android Oreo-powered P smart is equipped with a fingerprint scanner, which can also be used to authenticate purchases with the on-board Android Pay contactless payments service.
Completing the picture is a 3,000mAh battery, a dual SIM slot and 32GB of internal storage. This can be expanded by up to 256GB by adding a microSD card.
