Nokia-owner HMD is priming a new flagship smartphone for release in May, taking its cue from Apple’s top–end iPhone X.
The so–called Nokia X has already been spotted on billboards in China, with leaks also showing off the device’s box.
And now HMD has invited media to a special event on 16th May, where it’s thought the new phone will be officially unveiled.
Shots appearing to show the Nokia X’s box have already appeared online, showcasing a device with a notch display, bringing it in line with Apple’s bestseller, as well as a host of recently revealed Android phones.
Details on specs remain thin on the ground. But HMD is likely to equip the Nokia X up with the latest Android software, alongside a cutting-edge camera and the best available chipset.
It’s not yet clear whether the Nokia X will launch in the UK, or whether it will be aimed solely at Chinese users.
