The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 isn’t expected to launch until August or September, but already we have a leaked image to go on.
This picture comes from a Twitter and Weibo user who goes by the name Ice universe, and has a reliable track record when it comes to leaking phone images early.
If the picture is genuine, it seems the Note 9 will look almost identical to the Note 8. The one exception? The bezels at the top and bottom of the screen are slightly thinner in the Note 9 than Note 8.
Other than that, it seems very little has changed.
Rumours had swirled that the Note 9 would be the first Samsung smartphone with a fingerprint reader under the screen, rather than on the back. In this case, the fingerprint sensor would effectively be built into the screen, as was also rumoured – but never materialised – on the iPhone X. But sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case.
According to Ice Universe, the Note 9 will be 2mm shorter than the Note 8.
All of which is a bit disappointing. Still, Samsung could still pack some next-level tech inside to boost interest and help make the Note 9 stand out in an overcrowded smartphone market. Let’s hope so anyway.
