Honor View 20 teased with in-screen front camera

No sooner has Samsung unveiled its first phone with a hole punch-style hole in the screen than Chinese rival Honor (owned by Huawei) goes and teases its own.

Like the Samsung Galaxy A8s, the Honor View 20 has a small circular hole at the top of the screen to house the front-facing camera. It’s meant to be less obtrusive than the notches found on Apple’s iPhones and most Android rivals.

Also like the A8s, the View 20 is a mid-range device, which shows just how innovative more affordable handsets have become.

But the hole punch isn’t the only notable thing about the View 20. It also features a rear camera with a resolution of 48 megapixels. That’s incredibly high for a smartphone.

It uses a sensor made by Sony.

All these megapixels mean you can crop your photos much more closely without them looking pixellated, which is handy if you’ve captured a big cityscape and want to focus on one small detail. It also means you can print your snaps off at a large size with no loss in quality.

The View 20 has only been teased for now. Its official launch in on 22nd January next year.
