Made from premium metal and glass materials, the Galaxy S6 Edge's standout feature is its dual curved 5.1-inch Quad HD screen, which means it looks radically different to the majority of smartphones on the market.
The curved parts of the display also function as a second screen when the phone is on its side. Combined with the Galaxy S6 Edge's People Glance feature, this lets users see details of emails and messages, which are colour-coded for at-a-glance identification of the contact who sent the message.
As with the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy Edge features a quick-launch 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation, autofocus, LED flash, photo editing software, touch focus, face detection, Auto HDR and a panorama mode. A front-facing five-megapixel is also on board for selfies.
An octa-core Exynos 7420 processor combines with Android 5.0 Lollipop to power the handset, which runs on 4G networks for faster browsing and downloads and smoother streaming.
Enhanced fingerprint security is also on board with the Samsung Pay app for mobile payments. This enables users to pay for goods and services in shops and restaurants by swiping their Galaxy S6 Edge over a reader.
As with all Android phones, the selection of apps the Galaxy S6 supports runs into the hundreds of thousands, all which are available to download from the Google Play download store.
