About Earl Shilton Building Society

The Earl Shilton Building Society was formed in 1856 in the town of Earl Shilton, Leicestershire. The society is one of the smaller building societies in the UK, but like other mutual societies, they are very committed to the local community in which they have their roots. The Earl Shilton Building Society has grown and adapted to the changing financial climate over the years, but it still retains a head office in Earl Shilton and continues to provide a wide range of products and services to its members.

The products and services offered by the Earl Shilton Building Society include mortgages, savings accounts, and insurance services. Customers don’t need to be existing members of the society in order to apply for these services. The Earl Shilton also provides a Will Writing and Power of Attorney service, in conjunction with a local firm of solicitors.

Customers can choose from a range of different Earl Shilton BS mortgages. These include discount, standard variable rate and self build mortgages. Part-interest only mortgages are also available.

Self build mortgage products are available for single plot ownership. Staged release of the funds is available if required. An early redemption fee will be payable if extra repayments are made within a specified period of time.

Early repayment charges will apply if redemptions or rearrangements are made within a specified period of time. Fees are also applicable on discounted and variable rate Earl Shilton BS mortgages.

Earl Shilton BS mortgage applicants must be 18 years old in order to qualify. The minimum term of a mortgage from Earl Shilton is 5 years and the maximum is 40 years.
