Metro Bank was founded in 2010 and was the first new bank to open its doors on the high street for 150 years. The bank’s aim was to revolutionise the British banking sector by streamlining the process and bringing back a traditional face-to-face service. The bank started life with just four branches across the Greater London area, but it has since expanded and now there are dozens more Metro Bank outlets in and around London and the South East.
Customers can enjoy a wide range of services at the Metro Bank. The bank offers current accounts, savings accounts, safe deposit boxes, loans and mortgages for personal customers, and for business customers there are deposit accounts, loans, merchant services, commercial banking services, SME finance and cash management options. Metro Bank even provides in-branch water bowls and complimentary dog biscuits for pet owners.
