Compare TV Channels explained...

Whether it’s round-the-clock sport, children’s programming or nonstop movies, there’s a dedicated TV channel with your name on it. Here, we'll take a look at what's out there and help you find what you want at the best price.

Getting the TV channels you want

Most providers bundle similar content together in packs. These tend to be themed, typically around the likes of sports, movies and kids' programming.

Depending on your provider, however, some channels are only available as a standalone offer, often for a price that’s much less economical than if you were getting the channels included in standard TV packages with other providers.

For that reason, it’s vital that you work out what you want from your TV package and what you’re most likely to want to watch regularly before you sign up for anything long-term.

Luckily some providers offer their channels on a month-by-month basis. That means you’ll be able to cancel with just one month’s notice, so if you decide that a channel isn’t right for you, you’re not committed to subscribing to it.

Finding the best TV channel deals

When you’re shopping for good TV channel deals, take a good look around for time-limited offers as these tend to be the best deals.

Luckily, uSwitch features the latest promotions as soon as they arrive in our comprehensive comparison tables. Having all the offers in one place makes it much, much easier to find what you’re looking for and work out if you’re getting a good deal.

Our news section also carries details of the latest promotions, as well as any new content deals that providers have signed. If you want to stay abreast of which channels are showing the latest, hottest programmes, you’ll also find that information by reading our dedicated TV news.

Combining TV with other services

As you’ll probably know, bundling multiple services together not only makes paying your bills easier — it saves you money, too.

BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and Sky all offer triple-play or quad-play packages. These let you bundle together everything from your mobile, home phone and broadband with your TV.

Exclusive channels: what can’t I get?

Much of the most sought-after programming — whether it’s sport, movies or quality comedy and drama — has been picked up in the UK by Sky.

The good news if you’re not with Sky is that it does allow other providers’ customers to sign up for some of its most-sought-after channels for an additional fee, although Sky Atlantic is limited to only Sky and its streaming TV service, Now TV.
