Kids love to watch TV, and when it comes to finding something appropriate for them to watch, it’s easier than ever before, with dedicated channels, bundles and streaming services designed for children.
Most kids TV services filter out content that’s not appropriate for kids, and many also take out adverts, too. Some providers also provide dedicated kids menus to make it easier and more fun for children to find their favourite series.
There are some channels devoted entirely to children’s programming, most of which are available through any provider.
Nickelodeon is one of the frontrunners for children’s entertainment. Some of its shows include:
Nickelodeon also comes with sister channels Nick Jr., which specialises in TV programmes for preschool children; Nicktoons, a channel showing all Nicktoons cartoons and other cartoons; and timeshift channels for these, too.
The Disney Channel airs a wide variety of original programming, cartoons and classic films. You can expect to find series like:

Cartoon Network’s sister channels are Boomerang, airing classic cartoons, and Cartoonito, airing programmes for preschool children.
Every TV provider offers some kind of kids’ channels on at least one of their packages.
BT’s Total Entertainment package includes Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon and all of their sister channels.
Virgin has multiple options with kids’ programming. The Mix bundle comes with 13 kids channels, including Cartoon Network and its sister channels. Fun bundle adds the five Nickelodeon channels, and Full House and VIP both include all the Disney channels, too.
NOW TV offers kids TV on a rolling monthly basis, either with or without broadband. With NOW TV, you can get series from Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network and their sister channels, plus thousands of ad-free episodes. Kids can watch TV on demand with a special menu that’s easier for them to navigate.
TalkTalk offers kids TV through its Kids TV Boost. TV Boosts are flexible, 30-day TV add-ons that give you extra channels. The Kids Boost has Nickelodeon, The Disney Channel and Cartoon Network — plus all the sister channels — and over 200 episodes available to watch on demand.
You can add kids content to Sky's Sky Entertainment bundle as a flexible 31-day add-on for £5.
