The Africa Channel has been added to Virgin Media’s range of programming, as its bids to broaden the appeal of its on-demand Tivo offering.

Virgin customers who are signed up to the M+ TV package or above get the channel, which is described as featuring a “diverse range of programmes inspired by Africa”, for no extra charge.

Programmes the channel brings include drama Jacob’s Cross, the America’s Next Top Model-alike reality TV show Face of Africa, nature documentary Endangered and a series detailing the history of America’s relationship with Cuba pithily dubbed Cuba.

The Africa Channel is available on Virgin Media now on channel 828 within the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG).

Earlier this week, Virgin announced a new promotion offering customers a £75 discount when they sign up to select triple-play broadband, TV and home phone bundles.
