Mad Men season six promo shot

Mad Men will be returning to UK TV screens in April, BSkyB has announced. The sixth season of the critically acclaimed and multiple award-winning period-drama will premiere on Sky Atlantic with a double-bill on Wednesday April 10th.

Starring Golden Globe winner John Hamm and Elizabeth Moss, Mad Men depicts the fast-paced, chauvinistic world of advertising in 1960s New York.

The new season will feature 13 episodes and relates the story of Don Draper (Hamm) as he juggles a commitment to womanising with his full-time occupation as creative extraordinaire at fictional advertising agency Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.

“To be able to continue exploring the stories of these characters for a sixth season is an amazing opportunity,” said creator and executive producer Matthew Weiner.

“We love mining this world and look forward to bringing the audience stories that we hope will continue to both surprise and entertain them.”

Sky Atlantic's roster of US TV shows also includes the hugely popular Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.
