Sky has given its iPad Sky Sports app a radical overhaul, giving users amazing control over how they view this week’s Champions League final.

Updated to mark the momentous all-German clash, the free to download app allows users to replay the game’s incidents from as many as 20 angles on their iPads while viewing the main action on their TVs.

The app, which non Sky TV customers can subscribe to for £4.99 per month, also lets fans watch the action back in slow motion and harness goal-line technology of the sort that we ought to be glad didn’t exist in 1966.

David Gibbs, director of Sky Sports digital media, said: "This is great news for the Sky Sports for iPad app, which keeps getting better and better.

"This is about putting the technology into the hands of the viewer and allowing them to recapture the big moments in the final.

"It's the first time we've offered this through our app and it's another example of our investment in the Sky Sports viewer's experience.”

The Champions League final kicks off at 7.45pm on Saturday (May 25th) on Sky Sports 1.
