TalkTalk’s pay-TV customer base more than doubled over the last three months to become the UK’s ‘fastest growing TV service’, the company’s latest figures reveal.
The value broadband specialist -turned pay-TV player added 150,000 customers to its YouView on-demand TV service in during the first quarter of 2013.
The rise in take-up brought total YouView subscriber numbers to over 230,000, with the surge attributed to TalkTalk’s targeting of consumers who were previously put off pay-TV by the need to commit to costly, long-term contracts”.
Chief executive Didi Harding said: “We have the UK’s fastest growing TV service and our customers clearly appreciate it is great value for money.
“We believe, over time, that three-quarters of our customer base will take our TV offer. It is a brilliant way to start the pay-TV journey, particularly for families seeking great value mass-market entertainment.”
