BT Sport’s line-up continued to take shape today ahead of the channel’s official launch in August, with the announcement of an interactive TV show helmed by Danny Baker and Danny Kelly.
Dubbed Baker and Kelly’s Vaguely Sporting Phone-Out, the show reunites the former NME luminaries whose work together on Radio 5Live phone-in shows was among the station’s best output.
BT Sport will broadcast the show, which solicits viewer responses from SMS, phones, email and social media, on Friday from August 16th.
Baker said: "We intend to make all other twisted opinion shows seem as dull as egg eating contests.
"Baker and Kelly: the best at all that stuff. Sometimes right. Sometimes wrong. Always certain."
The hosts join fellow BBC mainstays Claire Balding and Jake Humphrey at the new channel, which will encompass two dedicated, BT-branded sports channels and ESPN.
Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: "Danny Baker and Danny Kelly are two of the country's best-known and admired football hosts.
"Their off-the-wall observations and passionate, humorous and engaging style of debate will be a huge hit with our viewers as we try to build some fantastic and fun programmes around the incredible live rights we have secured."
