Michelle Gomez, best known for her roles in 'Green Wing' and 'Bad Education', has landed a part in the next series of 'Doctor Who'.
Gomez will play the Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere in series eight, which stars Peter Capaldi as the twelfth Doctor.
The BBC has also revealed that the Cybermen will make a return.
It posted an image showing Capaldi and Gomez in a scene with the arch foes.
The Cybermen were first created for the 1966 serial 'The Tenth Planet', and have been a recurring villain for 50 years.
Their last appearance was in the 2013 Christmas special titled 'The Time of the Doctor'.
Gomez said she was "thrilled" to join Capaldi in the show. Showrunner Steve Moffat added: "I've known Michelle for years, and I'm thrilled to welcome her to 'Doctor Who'.
"She's everything we need – brilliant, Scottish, and a tiny bit satanic."
The eighth series of 'Doctor Who' will start on Saturday, August 23. Jenna Coleman will star as the Doctor's assistant Clara, while a host of stars – including Frank Skinner, Ben Miller, and Keeley Hawes – will make guest appearances.
Capaldi is a life-long fan of the show, so he seems the ideal man to take on the role. According to writer Mark Gatiss, the character will change, because Capaldi is older than Matt Smith and David Tennant.
