peter capaldi doctor who series 8

The BBC has released a new trailer for 'Doctor Who' series eight.

And here it is.

It's only a few seconds long, and doesn't give much away. It shows Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, sitting on top of the Tardis. He urges viewers to "Listen", not once, but twice.

The new series starts on Saturday, August 23. The first episode, entitled 'Deep Breath', will be shown on BBC One in the UK, and on BBC America in the US.

It will also be screened in cinemas around the world on the same day.

The 50th anniversary special was shown in cinemas around the world at the end of last year.

The BBC has previously released other trailers for the new series.

The series will see Peter Capaldi make his full episode debut as the Doctor. Jenna Coleman will return as his sidekick Clara. The Paternoster Gang will also be back.

Guest stars will include Tom Riley, Keeley Hawes, Hermione Norris, Michelle Gomez, Sanjeev Bhaskar, and Frank Skinner.

The scripts for series eight leaked recently online. The BBC pleaded with fans not to share them, and not to reveal any plot spoilers.
