Syfy UK will air the ten-episode first series of apocalyptic drama 'Dominion' later this year.

Set in a world where angels live side-by-side with humans, the show is a spinoff of the 2010 movie 'Legion', and takes place 25 years after the events of the film.

It stars Christopher Egan ('Kings', 'Home and Away') and Roxanne McKee ('Game of Thrones', 'Inspector Lewis') and was created by Vaun Wilmott ('Sons of Anarchy').

Syfy tweeted the announcement that it would broadcast the series.

'Dominion' has been commissioned a second series. In the US, Syfy renewed it for 13 more episodes, which will air next year.

The cast also includes Tom Wisdom ('Soulmates', '300', 'Agatha Christie: Poirot'), Luke Allen-Gale ('Endeavour', 'Ripper Street', 'Monroe'), Shivani Ghai ('London Life', 'The Bible', 'EastEnders') and Anthony Head ('Buffy The Vampire Slayer', 'Merlin', 'Free Agents').
