Ad-supported film and TV app ScreenHits has come to Samsung's smart TVs.

That means a curated collection of films and TV shows will be available to view, either for free with adverts, or ad-free for a fee.

The app also lets you view and comment on pilots that are currently being considered, putting you in the seat of a network bigwig.

It will come pre-installed on every Samsung smart TV, and will give you a free annual membership, as well as special content and discounts on rentals.

So what kind of shows can you expect? It's inked deals with Fox International, Telemundo and Freemantle, so you can watch 'Don Jon', 'Katyn', 'The Family', 'Pablo Escobar' and 'The IT Crowd', as well as documentaries and classic films.

"As we embark upon the formal launch of our site and app, we could not be happier with the partnership forged with the global leader in smart televisions, Samsung," Rose Adkins, CEO of ScreenHits, said in a statement.

"We are providing worldwide viewers hyper-curated programming that will allow discovery of new and venerable shows and films from producers around the globe, viewers will be able to select from 200-250 selected programs and films which will change quarterly under both a free and pay program plan."
