sky+ app update photo flinging

If you've always wanted to be on telly, now's your chance. Sky has updated its Sky+ mobile app, adding a feature that lets you beam photos from your handset to the big screen.

As long as you're on the same Wi-Fi network as your Sky+ HD box, you can ping whatever images are on your phone to your TV, be they of you, your cat, or your dinner.

It's simple to use. Click the camera icon in the navigation bar, and follow the steps. You can even play a slideshow if you like.

So what else is new? A New & Recommended feature shows you the latest films and shows to come to the service in one handy place, while a new sports shortcut takes you straight to the kick off.

Smart Series Link, meanwhile, automatically records the next series once you've stored the first, so you won't have to remember to set it yourself. Invaluable.

The app is available now on iOS and Android. To take advantage of the photo flinging feature, you'll need the latest software on your Sky+ HD box. Sky says this will roll out before the year is over, so hopefully you can impress your family with your snaps on the big screen come Christmas day.
