Panasonic's high-end range of 4K TVs can now stream Netflix's 4K shows and films.

Owners of the AX802 line-up will receive a firmware update when they connect to the internet. This will enable the 4K streaming.

Sets in the AX902 line-up are compatible straight out of the box.

Netflix recently started streaming in 4K, though you will have to pay more to access the higher resolution shows and films. Amazon, meanwhile, has announced plans to start streaming in 4K with its Prime Instant Video service before the end of the year, and has said it won't charge any more for the extra pixels.

4K has four times as many pixels as HD, making the picture much sharper.

Netflix has started filming all its own shows using 4K cameras, so it's investing in the tech. Its founder recently said 4K was five years from being mainstream, however.
