TalkTalk has halved the price of its TV, broadband and calls packages in the run-up to Christmas.

Its basic Essentials TV package is now just £4.25 a month plus line rental. Plus TV will set you back £9.25 a month plus line rental.

These offers apply for the first 12 months, then the price will return to normal.

TalkTalk is also offering Sky Movies free for a month. Sign up before 10 November and you'll get 11 Sky Movies channels without paying a penny extra.

TalkTalk will also get Netflix through YouView, though customers will have to wait until the New Year. Those with BT and Humax YouView boxes can access the streaming service right now.

"At TalkTalk we're on a mission to ensure every home across Britain can enjoy all the TV, broadband and technology they need, at a price they want," TalkTalk's Tristia Harrison said.

"TV is such a huge part of Christmas and our half price deal and exciting additions to the TV service are perfect for cash-conscious families."
