bbc one xmas advert

The BBC has celebrated some classic festive TV moments in a new advert.

Called 'Be With The Ones You Love', it features a host of Christmas favourites from years gone past, including 'Only Fools and Horses', 'EastEnders' and 'Doctor Who'.

It also includes clips from 'The Two Ronnies', 'Call The Midwife', 'Miranda', 'The Office' and 'The Vicar of Dibley'.

The advert starts with a montage of idents for BBC One.

Christmas is always a great time for telly fans. Though critics might accuse the BBC of relying on its vast archive of shows rather than celebrating this year's crop.

This festive season sees a tribute to Rik Mayall entitled 'Lord of Misrule', narrated by Simon Callow with contributions from the likes of Simon Pegg and Michael Palin.

Michael McIntyre will host 'Very Christmassy Christmas Show', and John Bishop will once again take the reigns of the 'Christmas Show'.

'Doctor Who' will have its annual Christmas special, this one featuring Nick Frost as Santa.

There will also be festive editions of favourite quiz shows 'Would I Lie To You', 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks', 'QI', 'Mock The Week', 'Pointless Celebrities' and 'Celebrity Mastermind'.
