TalkTalk is giving its customers an early Christmas present in the form of six free channels for the next month. Until January 8, customers can watch six UKTV channels they would usually have to pay for.

These are: Gold, Watch, Alibi, Eden, Good Food and Home.

Usually they are only available in the Entertainment and Entertainment Extra Boosts, which cost £5 a month (though at the moment TalkTalk is offering them half price, for just £2.50 a month).

Gold brings you comedy classics like 'Blackadder', 'The Office' and 'Gavin and Stacey', plus Christmas specials like 'Monty Python Live' and 'Only Fools and Horses'.

Alibi has dramas like 'Sherlock' and 'New Tricks', plus US crime smash 'Rizzoli & Isles'. Home, meanwhile, offers makeover shows like 'Kitchen SOS' and 'Extreme Makeover', while Eden is the home of natural history and science shows like 'Planet Earth' and 'Wild Columbia with Nigel Marvin'.

Good Food does what it says on the tin, with shows from Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson and James Martin.
