The second series of 'Penny Deadful' will start a week later than planned. Sky originally scheduled the first episode for April 28th, but has now confirmed it will air on May 5th.
The broadcaster didn't give any reason for the delay. The show was also delayed by US network Showtime from April 26th to May 3rd. There's a chance Sky is contractually obliged to follow the American debut.
Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Billie Piper, Harry Treadaway and Danny Sapani will all return to their roles for the second series. But the tables will be turned.
Series creator John Logan said during the press tour: "Last season, our heroes were hunters. This season, they're hunted."
It will also see Vanessa (Green) and Ethan (Hartnett) grow closer together as they face new challenges and enemies.
The gothic thriller features many characters from 19th century fiction including Dorian Gray, Mina Harker, Abraham Van Helsing, and Victor Frankenstein and his monster. A bit like 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen', in other words.
It will air on Sky Atlantic.
