Sky Restart is coming to the UK this year. The service lets you jump back in time to the start of a film regardless of where you came in, so you'll never be confused about the plot again.

It's currently available in Italy from Sky's counterpart, Sky Italia.

Jeremy Darroch, Sky's CEO, made the announcement at the Media and Telecoms conference this week.

"One of the most popular features among our Italian cousins is called 'Restart'," he said.

"It's a simple but very clever idea that allows customers to go back to the start of a movie.

"We'll bring it to the UK later this year – just one easy example of sharing best practice across the group."

Darroch didn't say when this year the service would launch, or how exactly it would work. Presumably your Sky box would have to be connected to the internet.

But it should be a handy feature. And hopefully it will put an end to people asking "Who's this guy again?"
