Virgin Media customers who subscribe to Sky Sports can now watch the channels on their Android devices. That's because the Sky Sports Android app now works for Virgin Media customers, who can just download the app and sign in using their Virgin Media log-in details.

The app has been available for iOS devices since the summer. It lets customers stream Sky Sports 1 to 5, Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports News HQ over 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi. (We'd advise Wi-Fi, unless you want a hefty bill.)

Sky snapped up the lion's share of live football rights for the next few seasons of the Premiership. It also shows rugby union, rugby league, golf, tennis, F1 and boxing.

"The Sky Sports app for Android cements our position as the home of sports TV at home or on the move and means we now have a full complement of Android and iOS apps for both Sky Sports and Sky Movies," said Scott Kewley, director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media.

"Our customers enjoy the same access to Sky Sports on the go as Sky customers."
