Channel 4 has released a new promo for All 4, its on-demand service previously known as 4oD. And it's an upbeat vision of the future.
Alan Carr has morphed into Alien Carr, with a lumpy, eye-filled head and tentacles for arms. But he's still hosting 'Chatty Man' (and presumably still offering his guests the cheapest booze around).
It seems the channel will stick with its structured-reality series in the future, only with a twist. Instead of 'Made in Chelsea' it's 'Genetically Engineered in Chelsea'. Though Spencer hasn't changed at all.
In 2120, the Grand National will feature robot horses, according to the promo. While Jon Snow will be a Simpsons-style dismembered head, complete with tentacle-style ties flapping about. He'll present Channel 4 news coverage of a gay royal wedding.
"We are continually being bombarded with depressing, post-apocalyptic, dystopian visions of the future where we are hunted by machines or probed by aliens," said 4Creative heads John Allison and Chris Bovill.
"So we wanted to launch Channel 4's new on-demand platform with a refreshing antithesis; as long as you stick with Channel 4 the future will be a liberating, progressively-minded and hilarious romp into oblivion. The only downside is that Spencer will still be around to hit on your girlfriend."
