It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights. It's time to meet the Muppets on The Muppet Show tonight. Or it will be this autumn.

Yes, a new series of 'The Muppets' is coming to Sky1 this autumn. It will start on ABC on September 22nd in the US, and land on Sky soon after.

But it takes a different tack to the show many of us grew up watching. It's shot in a mockumentary style, and follows Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Kermit and co as they go about their daily lives in the run-up to their return to TV.

The series will be written and executive produced by Bill Prady ('Big Bang Theory') and Bob Kushell ('Anger Management').

"Get ready to see the Muppets like you've never seen them before – with no-holds-barred access as they prepare for their big reunion, 'The Muppets' promises a candid look at what goes on before and after they start the music and light the lights!" said Adam MacDonald, director of Sky1.
