Sky is making a new kids TV mobile app and has enlisted the services of ustwo, the team behind the hit game 'Monument Valley'.

The app is aimed at children aged between four and nine, and will bring together shows from all their favourite channels, including Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney. It will be available on both iOS and Android mobile devices.

Parents can set time limits as well as restricted times when the little'uns can't watch, to make sure they're not vegging out when they should be doing their homework. They will also be able to see what their children have watched.

As well as picking up numerous awards for its games, ustwo helped develop the UI for the Tesco Hudl tablet and the YouView version of 4oD (now known as All 4).

“We want kids to have access to all their favourite shows when and on whatever device they want, in a way that parents know is creative, engaging but ultimately, safe," said Stephen van Rooyen, Sky's chief marketing and digital officer.

"Sky has always focused on providing great entertainment for the whole family which is why we are continuing to invest in what we offer the youngest members of the household. ”

The app is expected to launch in early 2016.
