amazon prime instant video

Amazon has given its Prime Instant Video app for iOS some nifty new features. You can now stream over 3G and 4G in HD and use Apple AirPlay to fire shows to your Apple TV to watch on the big screen.

We would advise caution though. Streaming a film or show in HD will use a lot of data, so make sure you've got plenty in your monthly allowance before you start getting stream-happy. Otherwise you could end up with a huge bill at the end of the month.

Amazon Prime Instant Video is what was previously known as LoveFilm. Amazon has pumped a huge amount of money into producing original programming for the service. Its show 'Transparent' won a Golden Globe earlier this year. Next year will see Woody Allen's first ever TV show made especially for the service.

Last week, Amazon announced it had signed the former 'Top Gear' trio of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond for a new car show. The as-yet-untitled show will start next year on the service, and run for at least three series under the terms of the deal.
