Netflix is reportedly close to signing the film rights for the Kent Haruf novel 'Our Souls At Night'.
According to Deadline, the film adaptation will star Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. Redford will also produce the film.
The script will be written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who wrote the scripts for '(500) Days of Summer', 'The Fault in Our Stars', 'Paper Towns' and 'The Spectacular Now'.
Redford and Fonda have previously starred together in 'Barefoot in the Park' and 'The Electric Horseman' in 1967 and 1979 respectively.
They would be two of the biggest names to sign up for a film deal with Netflix.
The two will be cast as a widow and widower who become romantically involved later in life.
Netflix is making a push for original films. It is also working on 'Beats of No Nation', 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend', 'War Machine' (starring Brad Pitt) and 'The Ridiculous Six', the first of four films starring Adam Sandler.
