bbc iplayer recommendations

BBC iPlayer just got a lot more personal. That's because the BBC is rolling out recommendations to its catch-up and on-demand service.

Sign in with a BBC ID and after each show you watch you'll be presented with a carousel filled with suggestions just for you.

It picks these based on your iPlayer history. So if you watch a lot of 'Dad's Army', expect it to show other sitcoms and maybe war programmes too.

The BBC has also revamped the BBC Sports app. You can now personalise the menu, plus it has a new My Sport homepage so you can see only what you're interested in, should you specify.

Neil Hall, head of sport product at BBC Digital, said: "We know keeping up to speed with what's going on in the world of sport is really important to sports fans – and increasingly on mobile devices.

"Today marks an important step towards making that experience personal and tailored to each sport fan out there with the BBC Sport app."

Hall added: "We are really looking forward to seeing the reaction from fans over the coming months and creating a truly personal Sport service for everyone."
