You'll be able to buy the new Apple TV at the end of next week. The streaming box has finally got a release date, and it came straight from the horse's mouth: Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Cook revealed the launch date at the WSJD Live event, organised by the Wall Street Journal. Apple will start taking pre-orders for the device from Monday.
However, on the Apple UK website, it still says "coming soon". UK pricing is also still yet to be announced, though recently European retailers listed the device alongside some prices in euros.
Cook said Apple had "developed an infrastructure to fix [a] terrible broken thing that none of us like" i.e. linear programming.
The new device features Siri for voice control, as well as a new remote control. The remote has a touchpad and can be used for gesture controls like the Nintendo Wii games console.
Now, if only Tim Cook could let us know about the firm's forthcoming TV streaming service, we'd be happy.
