Creator of 'The Simpsons' Matt Groening is said to be in talks with Netflix about making a new animated show.
According to Variety, Netflix is "considering a two-season order", each consisting of 10 episodes.
There are no details on the show's premise, or cast and crew.
Groening created legendary animated series 'The Simpsons' as well as sci-fi animation 'Futurama'. The latter finished in 2013, while Homer and co are still going, with 26 series under their belts.
'The Simpsons' was recently renewed through to its 28th season, which will air in 2017. This makes it one of TV's longest-running entertainment shows.
Netflix has plenty of animated series on offer, but it's one area where it's lacking in original content. Though 'BoJack Horseman', its original series about a washed-up sitcom star, has garnered good reviews. It will return later this year for its third series.
Groening would be quite a coup for the streaming service. While many agree 'The Simpsons' has been going downhill for years, its early years still stand as some of the best TV ever made, whether animated or not. Here's hoping he can recapture some of that past form.
