the x-files teaser

A new mini-series of 'The X-Files' is touching down soon, and now here's the first clip to get our teeth into!

Sadly it's not embeddable, so you'll have to head to to watch it.

It starts with a blank screen, with David Duchovny speaking.

"My name is Fox Mulder," he says. "Since my childhood I've been obsessed by a controversial global phenomenon. Since my sister disappeared when I was 12 years old, in what I believe was an alien abduction."

He goes on to talk about his career in the FBI, investigating paranormal science cases in a unit known as The X-Files. And how Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) was brought in to try and debunk his theories.

He concludes: "In 2002, in a change of direction and policy, the FBI closed The X-Files, and our investigation ceased. But my personal obsession did not."

This should have fans chomping at the bit to see what the mini-series has in store.

'The X-Files' was one of the most popular TV shows of the '90s. The mini-series will air on Fox in the US on January 24th, and on Channel 5 in the UK sometime in early February.

If you want to get up to speed, you can stream all nine previous series on Amazon Prime Video now.
