Netflix has posted the first teaser trailer for the fourth series of 'House of Cards', ahead of its official to-air date of March 4th.
The clip takes the form of a presidential address for reelection, with Frank Underwood – played by Kevin Spacey – looking straight at the camera and addressing the voters.
America will elect a new president in 2016 once Barack Obama's second term in office is complete, so the series may mirror real life.
The teaser cuts between Underwood extolling his values and what he can do for America and flashes of the murders and betrayals to which he'd resort to get what he wants.
It's underscored with the hashtag #FU2016, and the tagline "America deserves Frank Underwood". Many would be inclined to agree.
'House of Cards' has proved a big hit for Netflix. Based on the BBC mini-series of the same name (which was itself based on the novel also of the same name by Michael Dobbs), it sees Spacey relish the chance to play a manipulative, ruthless politician on his way to the top.
It was the first online-only original series to earn major Emmy nominations.
