Series six of 'Game of Thrones' starts on Sky on Sunday. And by the sounds of things, we'd better enjoy it while it lasts, because there might not be much left where it came from.
In fact, after this series, there might be just 13 episodes left to be made. Considering each series has consisted of 10 episodes, that would mean either one final mega series, or series seven and eight being severely truncated.
The news comes from Variety, which interviewed executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Benioff said: "I think we're down to our final 13 episodes after this season. We're heading into the final lap. That's the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone, but that's what we're looking at."
The producers then said that series seven and eight would consists of seven and six episodes respectively.
Though it's worth taking this with a pinch of salt. Following the report, HBO issued a statement saying no details had yet been decided. It's also unlikely HBO would want to disappoint fans, or let a cash show like 'Game of Thrones' end any sooner than it has to.
