AMC's 'Preacher' is coming to Amazon Prime Video on Monday, but you can watch the first four minutes of the pilot episode right now thanks to this YouTube clip.
The AMC TV adaptation of the famed comic book will air on Mondays on Amazon's service. Though there will be a two-week hiatus after the pilot episode (Amazon is calling this a "nice preview" for its customers).
Then episodes will be broadcast every Monday, the day after they're shown on AMC in the US.
The series is highly anticipated. It's headed by Sam Catlin, who wrote 'Breaking Bad', and co-produced by Seth Rogen, who made 'Knocked Up'. Dominic Cooper stars as Jesse Custer, a chain-smoking Texas clergyman who also happens to be inhabited by a mysterious alien entity. This gives him the power to command people to do whatever he tells them.
Ruth Negga ('Agents of SHIELD') plays his ex-girlfriend Tulip, while Joseph Gilgun ('This is England') plays Irish vagabond Cassidy.
It's part of DC's comic book stable 'Vertigo', which is a lot more grown up than Marvel's universe.
"'Preacher' is one of the most ambitious and highly anticipated new series of the year, and exactly the kind of show we want to bring our Prime members around the world," said Brad Beale, Amazon worldwide television acquisition vice-president.
