Wuaki.tv

The Wuaki.tv streaming service is coming to Philips Android TVs. The service will soon be available on all Philips Android TV models from this year and last.

Wuaki.tv serves up films and TV episodes that you watch on a pay-per-download or rent basis. New films generally cost £3.49 to rent and £9.99 to buy. TV series are around a tenner a go.

The new Wuaki.tv Android app is in keeping visually with the Android TV interface. It's also compatible with Philips' voice input function on select Philips Android TVs. If yours is compatible, you can just speak into the remote control to search for a film, TV show, actor or genre.

"It's fantastic that Philips TVs will be the first to offer a great service like Wuaki.tv," said Giuseppe Puglisi, global marketing director of Philips owner TP Vision. "The addition of this new service, combined with the recent announcement of a number of other major video streaming and gaming partners, is further proof that we intend to not only continually improve our Android smart TV offering but to also make it the best available."

Sidharth Jayant, global product director of Wuaki.tv, added: "By entering into the Android TV apps environment, we are completing our presence in most of the smart TV operative systems. Our aim is to become the best streaming service on living room devices hence this deployment is quite strategic for us."
