Here's the first look at Jude Law as the Pope in Sky's forthcoming drama 'The Young Pope'.

Directed by Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino, the show focuses on Lenny Belardo, aka Pius XIII, the first American Pope in history. This young, charming man seems a media darling, but it quickly emerges that he was chosen for more than his boyish swagger.

He's simultaneously shrewd and naive, old-fashioned and yet very modern, doubtful and resolute, ironic, pedantic, hurt and ruthless. In other words, a man of contradiction.

The teaser is an introduction to the character. "I'm a contradiction, by God," he's heard saying. "One in three and three in one. Like Mary, virgin and mother. Like man, good and evil."

The show is a joint production by Sky, HBO and Canal+. It will air on Sky Atlantic in October.

It also stars Diane Keaton, Silvio Orlando, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Javier Cámara, Ludivine Sagnier, Tony Bertorelli and James Cromwell.
