Here's the first teaser for Sky Atlantic's new series 'Westworld'.
The series is described as a "dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin". It stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachael Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright and Tessa Thompson.
It's inspired by the 1973 Yul Brynner film of the same name – which was written and directed by Michael Crichton – that saw robots malfunction at an amusement park, causing havoc and terror for unsuspecting tourists. (It was also memorably the inspiration for the 'Itchy & Scratchy Land' episode of 'The Simpsons'.)
The 10-part series is a joint production between Sky and HBO.
"We couldn't be more excited for 'Westworld' to arrive on Sky Atlantic this autumn as part of our continuing partnership with HBO," said Zai Bennett, director of Sky Atlantic. "This series has been shrouded in secrecy and no doubt this teaser will generate a whole load more anticipation for what's to come. 'Westworld' is already one of the most talked about shows of the year – and it hasn't even begun."
